Inspired by miniature models and kid’s play rugs, I designed and fabricated this abstracted map of Pittsburgh. Intended for interactive play, this tufted rug would live in the Pittsburgh International Airport in a hypothetical Kid’s Play Space. To make it more immersive, I digitally drew and animated projections for the night scene, boats driving in the rivers, and clouds moving overhead.
