Wall Tapestry 2024 - 70” x 70”

Designed and fabricated for installation in the Joe Ballay Center for Design Fusion, this rug blends natural and geometric shapes to show where art and technology meet. The imagery is based on a 1967 aerial photo of CMU, marking Joe Ballay’s student years and later role as Head of the School of Design. Included campus landmarks: Margaret Morrison, College of Fine Arts, The Fence, Baker Hall, and the edge of Schenley. 32 tufted circles are placed throughout to acknowledge each year Joe Ballay taught at Carnegie Mellon (1970–2002).
